These decisions were announced in a post published on the Presidential Office’s X account on Wednesday.

“President Jose Maria Balcazar led the final Council of Ministers session of his administration, during which measures were approved to address the emergency caused by the earthquake in the Junin region and extend states of emergency in areas of Ayacucho, Huancavelica, Junin, Cusco, La Libertad, Loreto, and Tumbes regions, ensuring the continuity of government actions for the benefit of the population,” the post stated.

The Executive Branch also approved a budget transfer to the Defense Ministry and the designation of the Rio Nieva Reserved Zone as the Tijae–Rio Nieva Protection Forest.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved several extradition requests to strengthen the fight against crime and international cooperation in justice matters, as well as the initiation of legal proceedings to protect the Peruvian State’s interests in the transport sector.
