Peru maintained export growth for the fifth consecutive year after surpassing US$90 billion in exports in 2025,

The government official noted that exports totaling US$90 billion in 2025 accounted for 27.3% of Peru’s gross domestic product (GDP).
As of May this year, Peruvian product shipments had already surpassed US$45 billion, representing a 36.7% increase compared to the same period in 2025, he underscored.
Speaking at the ceremony marking the 53rd anniversary of the Peruvian Exporters Association (Adex), he recalled that Peruvian products reached 162 markets.

“These results demonstrate that foreign trade continues to be one of the main drivers of economic growth, job creation, and Peru’s development. Each new market opened creates greater opportunities for our companies, especially micro, small, and medium-sized exporting enterprises in the regions,” Gomez indicated.
The ceremony marking Adex’s anniversary was attended by Chairman Cesar Tello, Ministers Cesar Quispe (Production), Aldo Prieto (Transportation and Communications), Flavio Cruz (Labor), as well as public officials, former ministers, business leaders, and export sector representatives.
Dynamic growth
According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), export growth between January and May was driven mainly by higher mineral exports (metallic and non-metallic), which totaled US$33.393 billion, representing a 53.1% increase.
The expansion was supported by higher international prices and larger export volumes of copper and gold.
Likewise, the ministry stressed export growth in the fisheries sector, which reached US$2.114 billion (+4.1%); the agricultural sector, which totaled US$4.732 billion (+5.3%); and the forestry sector, which reached US$29 million (+9.1%).
Main destinations
According to Mincetur, China, the United States, and the European Union were the leading destinations for Peruvian goods between January and May 2026.
Exports to China totaled US$17.390 billion (+44.3%); exports to the United States reached US$4.275 billion (+19.8%); and exports to the EU amounted to US$3.957 billion (+11.7%), the government agency noted.
It also highlighted increased exports to India, which totaled US$4.798 billion (+257.6%); Canada, with US$2.382 billion (+38.2%); and Switzerland, with US$1.546 billion (+53.4%), as evidence of the diversification achieved by Peru’s export portfolio.
