Peru: JNE officializes 36 presidential tickets eligible for 2026 General Elections | Noticias

The National Elections Board (JNE) recently published the resolutions officializing the presidential tickets that will be eligible to participate in the 2026 General Elections, totaling 36.

The resolutions issued by the JNE plenary proclaim the results of the primary elections submitted by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) for 38 political parties and electoral alliances.

These organizations were among the 39 initially authorized to participate in the elections, having surpassed the participation threshold established according to the selected electoral modality (affiliates or delegates).

Acción Popular (Popular Action) is not included, as the JNE declared the party’s electoral process null and void.

Thus, the results are officially certified for a total of 38 political organizations.

However, two of them—Frepap (Agricultural People’s Front of Peru) and Partido Ciudadanos por el Perú (Citizens for Peru Party)—will only submit lists for Congress, meaning the number of presidential tickets will be 36.

Candidate registration requests

The JNE reported that the 38 political organizations authorized to request the registration of their candidates may do so until 11:59:59 p.m. on December 23 before the corresponding Special Electoral Boards.

It specified that registration requests may also be submitted virtually through the Declara+ system, provided that the legal representative logs into the platform using their username and password and initiates the registration process no later than 12:00 p.m. on December 24.

“In this case, the legal representative must remain continuously logged into the system until the submission of the request is completed,” the electoral authority stated.
