Peru: Authorities investigate death of Canadian tourist found in Ollantaytambo, Cusco | Noticias

The body of a Canadian tourist was found on Friday morning in the Pukarumiyoc sector of Ollantaytambo district, Urubamba province, Cusco region, southeastern Peru.

Agents from the Ollantaytambo Police Station are conducting investigations after the Canadian tourist’s body was found at around 9:00 a.m. (local time).

It concerns 82-year-old Ferguson John Hugh, a Canadian citizen, who, according to his partner, Carmen Koc, suffered from mental disorders and had allegedly left his hotel hours earlier for an unknown destination.

The incident was reported to a representative of the Public Ministry (Prosecutor’s Office), who ordered the securing of the scene and the carrying out of the corresponding legal procedures.

The body was then removed to determine the exact causes and circumstances of the death.
