These meetings were held as part of the follow-up on the ongoing electoral process conducted by the multilateral organization’s delegation.

“Its Chairman, Alvaro Henzler, and members of his team outlined the work that the national electoral observation platform will carry out during the General Elections,” the OAS reported on X following the session with Transparencia’s leaders.

Dialogue with Reniec

Previously, as part of its preliminary visit, the OAS EOM held a meeting with Reniec Chief Carmen Velarde and her technical team.

According to the multilateral organization, the meeting served to learn about the Electoral Roll ahead of the upcoming 2026 General Elections.

The delegation’s agenda includes meetings with authorities of the National Elections Board and representatives of the Executive Branch, political actors, and civil society members.

These sessions will allow the group to learn first-hand about different perspectives on the development of the current democratic process in Peru.
