The visit by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio highlights Peru’s importance to the United States, said

In this regard, he noted it will be necessary to make the most of this moment and this visit to continue strengthening our relations with the the U.S.

“It means having intelligence and logistical support because we are facing a very serious security situation, and the United States can support us in achieving faster results,” he indicated. 

The minister said U.S. support for Peru in addressing the presence of El Niño phenomenon will be important because the North American country has extensive logistical capabilities.
