Defence wrapped up the minor premiership when they defeated nearest rivals Koboni in National Capital rules on Sunday.

In one of the best games seen for a long time and before a big crowd, Defence overwhelmed Koboni in the final quarter to win 12.12-84 to 9.12-66.

Defence played extremely well for four and thoroughly deserved their win.

Coach Bruce Waluka stated after the game that his team could improve still further, and he was pleased how they fought the game right out to the

end after looking beaten at three-quarter time.

On the other hand, the Koboni camp was also pleased with the team’s performance. Koboni need to improve in two ways – more height and fitness.

The first should be overcome with the inclusion of Gere Aopi, Upu Kila, Gimana Guma, Karo Vala and Alu Opina, who were some of the players missing on Sunday, and the second by hard training; doubt will be given in the lead finals.
