ON THIS DAY IN OUR HISTORY: Bougainville wins game fishing title

The Bougainville Game Fishing Club has announced the results of the Independence game fishing titles.

Bougainville was the overall winner, followed by Rabaul and Madang.

Bougainville scored 12,886 points to win the Papua New Guinea Game Fishing Association Shield. D. Vickers and R. Robson of Bougainville won the SP Shield for best team score.

Madang Game Fishing Club won the Cool Shield with a 145 lb bronze whaler shark caught by Paul Jones.
