The first 20 mothers from the Pulabe area in Hoskins today received their SME loan credit statements under the Nakanai District Development Authority (NDDA) SME Partnership Program, delivered in partnership with Women’s Micro Bank (Mama Bank).
The presentation ceremony was held at Hoskins Girls Technical Secondary School and was officiated by Francis Galia Maneke, Minister for Oil Palm and President of the Hoskins Rural LLG.
A total of 154 mothers from the Pulabe area have successfully qualified for the SME Partnership Program. The rollout began on Friday, with the first batch of 20 applicants processed.
The remaining successful applicants will continue to be processed in batches of 20 each day, starting again on Monday, 13 July 2026, until all beneficiaries have been attended to.
The first batch represents a total loan value of K20,000, with each recipient approved for a K1,000 SME loan to support or expand small business activities. Overall, the program will inject K154,000 into the local economy through loans to all 154 successful applicants, with the full amount expected to be credited to beneficiaries within the next seven days.
The presentation marks the fruition of the NDDA SME Partnership Program, an initiative aimed at empowering women through access to affordable finance, encouraging entrepreneurship, improving household incomes, and creating sustainable economic opportunities in rural communities.
The partnership between the NDDA and Women’s Micro Bank (Mama Bank) demonstrates a shared commitment to empowering mothers and strengthening grassroots economic participation across the Hoskins area and Nakanai District
