The knockout matches in the men’s and women’s divisions of the North Fly MP James Donald Volleyball Cup are underway today at the PNG Defence Force (PNGDF) Forward Operating Base (FOB) courts in Kiunga, Western Province.

In the Men’s Division Pool A, Kiunga Urban advanced after Gii 1 walked out of their opening knockout match.

In the second match, Drimdamasuk defeated Fly Bubbles 1 to advance.

Drimdamasuk will now wait for the outcome of the match between Fly Bubbles 1 and Kiunga Urban, with the winner meeting Drimdamasuk in the semifinal.

In Pool B, Dome defeated Iowara in Game 1, with Iowara walking out and Dome advancing.

Dome will now wait for the loser of Game 2 between Gii 2 and Fly Bubbles 2. The loser of that match will have another opportunity to challenge the winner of Game 1.

The Gii 2 and Fly Bubbles 2 match is currently underway.

In the Women’s Division Pool A, Kiunga Urban defeated Gii 1 to advance as the winner, while Gii 1 has been eliminated.

Fly Bubbles 1 received a bye in Game 2.

In Pool B, Fly Bubbles 2 defeated Iowara, with Iowara eliminated and Fly Bubbles 2 advancing.

Fly Bubbles 2 will now face the loser of Game 2 between Gii 2 and Drimdamasuk.

Gii 2 defeated Drimdamasuk in Game 2 and advances, while Drimdamasuk will face Fly Bubbles 2 in the next match, which is currently underway.

The tournament continues today with teams battling for places in tomorrow’s semifinals, ahead of the grand finals and presentation on Sunday.
