Trump at TPUSA: Imminent release of ‘interesting’ UFO documents promised
During a Turning Point USA event in Phoenix, President Trump stated he will direct the Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to begin releasing government UFO files very soon. He noted that the review process is already underway and has yielded interesting documents.
“I recently directed the Secretary of War … to begin releasing government files relating to UFOs and unexplained aerial phenomena,” Trump said. “And I figured this was a good crowd because I know you people –– you’re really into that, I don’t know if I am.”
The recent move follows public calls from Rep. Tim Burchett, who has p ushed for transparency regarding government spend on secret programs, and Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla), who has been using subpoena authority to obtain specific classified videos of UAP formations.
Rep. Luna emphasized that the lack of disclosure is a national security issue, citing the presence of US military installations and restricted airspace.
Trump in February wrote on Truth Social that he was directing the DOD to release files “related to alien and extra-terrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and unidentified flying objects (UFOs), and any and all other information connected to these highly complex, but extremely interesting and important, matters.”
Rep. Tim Burchett highlighted the testimony of former intelligence official David Grusch, who claimed the US has a decades-long program dedicated to reverse-engineering recovered alien spacecraft.
According to The Hill, Burchett argues that the issue is less about little green men and more about government transparency and fiscal responsibility, questioning why “alphabet agencies“ provide conflicting information while spending millions in taxpayer dollars.
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has used subpoena authority to demand 46 classified videos of UAP formations recorded over high-conflict areas like Iran, the Persian Gulf and the East China Sea.
Luna noted that the Pentagon failed to meet the April 14 deadline for these videos, but she remains confident that working with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will result in their release.
Luna maintains that UAPs represent a very real threat to military readiness and the security of US restricted airspace and military installations.
