Bunnie Xo passes verdict on pickup lines in her DMs after Jelly Roll divorce

Bunnie Xo, who recently finalised her divorce from musician Jelly Roll, is now opening up about how she’s feeling in this new chapter of her life.

“Ladies, they should have never let me back out in the streets because. I love it here, alright? I love it here and I’m never going back,” she said on the Today show on August 20 when asked how she was holding up since the highly-publicised split.

She also joked about receiving a lot of attention on social media since her divorce became public.

“It’s like a freaking smorgasbord. It’s a boy buffet,” she revealed while laughing. “This is amazing. It’s so much fun in there. I don’t even know who to reply to. It’s a lot. It’s a lot…I love reading everybody’s DMs.

She continued, “Some of these pickup lines are amazing…There’s so many. Everybody has just been so sweet and so loving.”

She also shared that she feels genuinely happy right now, describing this period of her life as unexpectedly rewarding.

“I got my smile back and my smile is to my ears. I’m having the freaking time of my life and I’m just thriving. I never thought that it would turn out to be such a blessing, but it’s such a blessing and I’m thankful.”

She also shared a piece of advice for women who put their own needs aside for others. “I feel like us as women, we put ourselves aside so much for partners, friends, kids and it’s like we don’t pour into ourselves, and sometimes you need to be selfish and you need to pour into yourself.”

She said she hopes her experience can show others that no matter how difficult a situation feels.

“I just hope that my journey can show people, ‘Hey, it doesn’t matter how hard of a situation you’re going through, you’re gonna get through that. You’re gonna rise up and you’re gonna be an even better version of yourself.'”

When asked about handling such a personal experience so publicly, Bunnie Xo compared herself to a racehorse with blinders on.

“I’m just always trying to get to the finish line and I know when something like that, that’s deeply personal happens, it’s beautifully tragic, but at the same time, there’s always a silver lining and there’s always something better to look forward to.”

Bunnie Xo has previously shared that she went through fertility treatments and still hopes to become a mother someday.
