MUSCAT – The announcement follows an official letter sent by Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, to Khalifa Rajab Abdul Sadiq, Libya’s Minister of Oil and Gas and current chairman of OAPEC’s Council of Ministers, formally communicating the decision.
In a statement, OAPEC’s General Secretariat acknowledged the UAE’s contributions during its period of membership, highlighting its active role in advancing joint Arab cooperation in the petroleum and energy sectors.
Despite the withdrawal, the organisation reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration and integration among remaining member states, with a focus on advancing shared interests through strategic programs and initiatives.
