Muscat – The Royal Army of Oman (RAO) has initiated early preparations for the 2026 military Hajj mission, ensuring meticulous organisation for military and security pilgrims, both active and retired. This effort is undertaken under the high patronage of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik the Supreme Commander.

Brigadier General (Navy) Abdul Nasser bin Ahmed al Abri, Head of Moral Guidance and Military Protocol and Head of the Military Hajj Mission, confirmed that preparations commenced early in line with directives from the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. This proactive approach aims to finalise all administrative, organisational, logistical, and media procedures well in advance to ensure the optimal performance of the Hajj rituals.

The Moral Guidance and Military Protocol teams have already held coordination meetings with relevant authorities in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These discussions covered travel, accommodation, and transportation logistics between the holy sites. Furthermore, guidance and awareness programmes are being developed in collaboration with religious and administrative bodies to familiarise the military pilgrims with the rulings and rituals of Hajj.

Brigadier General al Abri noted that the administrative and guidance body that will accompany the pilgrims throughout the journey is currently being formed. This body will oversee field supervision, offer psychological and religious support, and monitor the organisational, medical, logistical, and media facets of the mission. The General Staff of the armed forces is committed to making the military Hajj mission a model of discipline and organisation, reflecting the noble values of Oman’s military and security personnel.
