MUSCAT: OQ Group has clarified that recent media reports regarding the declaration of force majeure on liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments relate only to a specific contractual arrangement and do not affect its broader operations.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Omani energy company said the matter concerns a particular contract managed by OQ Trading involving the supply of gas from a country affected by the current regional situation to Petrobangla, Bangladesh’s state-owned oil and gas company.
“OQ Group clarifies that the matter relates solely to a specific contract managed by OQ Trading concerning the supply of gas from a country affected by the current situation to Petrobangla company in Bangladesh,” the statement said.
The company emphasised that the reports circulating in some media outlets should not be interpreted as a broader disruption to OQ’s LNG shipments or operations.
OQ Group also urged stakeholders and the public to rely on verified information from official sources.
“We urge all parties to verify information and rely on official sources,” the company said.
