MUSCAT — Oman’s Nama Supply said it has restored electricity services and provided support in a humanitarian case highlighted on social media, after clarifying that the affected property was registered as a commercial account without prior notification of its residential use.
In a statement issued on Monday, the state-owned electricity distribution company thanked the public for engaging with a widely shared post described as an “urgent humanitarian case,” and said it had reviewed the matter immediately upon becoming aware of it.
Nama Supply said its teams contacted the charitable marketing team directly, investigated the background of the case and reinstated the service without delay.
The company said it later emerged that the referenced property was registered as a commercial account, and that the company had not been formally notified of a change in usage to residential. As a result, Nama Supply said it was unable to identify the occupants or assess their specific needs at the time.
The utility added that it offers dedicated services for certain categories of customers, including those who rely on medical devices requiring uninterrupted electricity supply. Such support, it said, is provided automatically based on available customer data, while stressing the importance of direct communication with the company to ensure appropriate assistance.
“For customers with medical requirements that depend on continuous power, special services are available and activated based on verified information,” the company said, urging customers to inform Nama Supply of any change in property use or special circumstances.
Nama Supply said customers seeking further details or assistance can contact its call centre on 1011.
