Oman’s Maritime Security Centre urges public to avoid suspicious objects at sea and beaches

MUSCAT — Maritime Security Centre Oman has issued a public advisory urging citizens and residents to exercise caution and avoid approaching or handling any suspicious objects or debris found at sea or along the country’s coastline.

In a statement, the centre warned that unidentified objects or wreckage discovered in marine areas or on beaches could pose potential risks, particularly amid heightened regional developments.

Residents have been advised to maintain a safe distance from such objects and immediately notify the relevant authorities to allow specialised teams to assess and manage the situation.

The authority emphasised the importance of adhering to safety precautions and avoiding any direct interaction with unknown items, which may present hazards to public safety.

“Taking precautionary measures and reporting such findings promptly will help ensure the safety of all,” the statement noted.
