Oman’s Liwa gets new 2.5km path to boost walking and cycling

MUSCAT : The new path has been developed to encourage sustainable modes of transportation, including cycling, electric-bike use and walking, while creating a safer and more accessible environment for residents and visitors.

The work forms part of the wider Liwa Entrance Development Project, a four-kilometre scheme. The project includes the widening and improvement of roads, redesigned intersections, modern lighting, pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, green spaces and public parks.

Earlier development work included road paving and the construction of drainage culverts, with additional landscaping, lighting and recreational facilities being implemented as part of the broader transformation.
