MUSCAT : Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi and India’s External Affairs Minister HE Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar held a phone call on Wednesday to review bilateral ties and discuss ways to deepen the strategic partnership between the two long-standing partners, Oman’s Foreign Ministry said.
The conversation came as the two countries mark 70 years of diplomatic relations, during which Muscat and New Delhi have expanded cooperation across political, economic and security fields. Both ministers stressed the importance of building on existing agreements and enhancing joint efforts to support regional stability and shared interests.
They also discussed opportunities to grow trade and investment, strengthen economic cooperation and advance initiatives that benefit both nations. Regional developments were reviewed, along with ongoing coordination on security and humanitarian issues.
The call additionally touched on Oman’s recent humanitarian facilitation of the release and evacuation of Indian nationals who were part of the crew of the Greek-operated cargo vessel Eternity C.
