MUSCAT – Oman’s Foreign Minister His Excellency Sayyid Badr Albusaidi said he met U.S. Vice President JD Vance to discuss the ongoing negotiations between the United States and Iran, expressing optimism that further progress could be achieved in the coming days.
“I met Vice President JD Vance today and shared details of the ongoing negotiation between the United States and Iran and the progress achieved so far,” Albusaidi said in a post on X.
He thanked the U.S. side for its engagement and said he looked forward to “further and decisive progress in the coming days,” adding: “Peace is within our reach.”
Oman has long played a mediating role between Washington and Tehran, facilitating backchannel communications and indirect talks during periods of heightened tension.
The latest comments come amid renewed diplomatic efforts aimed at easing regional tensions and addressing outstanding disputes between the two sides.
