New Khazaen logistics hub deal enhances Oman’s role in global trade

MUSCAT : Under the agreement, the customs warehouse at Khazaen Dry Port will be adopted as a main hub for unloading and redistributing bulk and part shipments within the Sultanate of Oman. The move is expected to accelerate customs clearance, reduce transportation costs and enhance supply chain efficiency, while offering local and regional companies faster and more flexible logistics solutions.

As part of the agreement, SSC Consolidation will operate direct weekly shipping lines linking Khazaen Inland Port with ports in the UAE, Germany, the United States, Belgium and India. This will provide importers and exporters with more competitive shipping options and significantly expand Oman’s global trade connectivity network.

The agreement also includes the designation of Khazaen Dry Port as a final destination in SSC Consolidation’s bills of lading within the Sultanate, integrating the port into the company’s extensive global network.

SSC Consolidation will rely on Asyad Group’s integrated logistics ecosystem, covering transportation, handling, warehousing and supply chain management, leveraging its global network and Oman’s modern port infrastructure, with direct links to ports, free zones and economic zones across the country.

Al-Khattab bin Salem Al-Maani, Vice President for Commercial Affairs at Asyad Ports and Free Zones, said the agreement underscores Asyad Group’s commitment to strengthening Oman’s status as a global logistics hub. He noted that adopting Khazaen Dry Port as a main consolidation and distribution point for part shipments will help speed up customs procedures and reduce logistics costs, in line with Vision 2040 goals.

Sheikh Murazuddin, Sales Director for Asia and the Mediterranean at SSC Consolidation, described the agreement as a key milestone in expanding less-than-sea freight volumes to Oman. He said the partnership would enhance trade flows by building a world-class connectivity network, improving last-mile land deliveries, and expanding the company’s global reach.

Both parties affirmed that the agreement adds significant economic value to Oman’s logistics ecosystem, offering innovative and flexible solutions that enhance market competitiveness and attract global investments seeking safe and efficient logistics destinations in the region.
