Muscat Nights 2026 begins from January 1, here’s what to expect with a month-long urban winter spectacle

Muscat: The month-long programme offers diverse content catering to families, youth, creatives, sports enthusiasts and visitors from within and outside the Sultanate.

Events will unfold across multiple locations, including Qurum Natural Park, Al Amerat Public Park, Seeb Beach, Qurayyat, Wadi Al Khoudh, Al Khuwair Square, shopping centres, and cultural landmarks such as the Royal Opera House Muscat, allowing visitors to move seamlessly between experiences spread across the city.

A central visual identity for the season is the character “Siraj”, portrayed as an Omani child of light roaming the skies of Muscat. The symbolic figure anchors the narrative and visual storytelling of Muscat Nights and stands out as a key attraction for families and visitors.

Among the headline attractions is the symphony of fountains and light at Qurum Natural Park, where the lake is transformed into an open-air theatre featuring artistic water shows synchronised with music and advanced lighting technologies. The park will also host nighttime drone shows, with illuminated formations inspired by Muscat’s cultural and artistic identity.

The Muscat Nights Circus, staged daily at the Oman Automobile Association, brings together international performers showcasing acrobatics, aerial acts, balancing skills and sleight of hand. The experience is elevated through the use of hologram technology, creating three-dimensional visual scenes that merge performance with cutting-edge light design. A dedicated children’s zone within the circus offers interactive educational activities, role-play experiences in scientific fields, astronomy-themed presentations, and creative art and handicraft workshops.

Family-focused entertainment continues with Masha and the Bear interactive events, carnival zones featuring games, daily parades, and performances by local and international artists, alongside cultural, artistic and musical evenings that maintain a daily rhythm of celebration.

Sports form a major pillar of the programme, with cycling races, endurance events, shooting, martial arts, friendly football matches, bowling, billiards and snooker. A key highlight is the Muscat Nights Local and International Basketball 3×3 Championship, scheduled from January 22 to 24, 2026, at Al Araimi Boulevard Mall, featuring teams from Oman and abroad.

Youth-oriented activities will take centre stage at the Oman Automobile Association and Wadi Al Khoudh, including professional car drifting shows, zip-lining, and action-based outdoor experiences designed to reflect contemporary entertainment trends. Seeb Beach will host football and beach volleyball tournaments, as well as morning fitness sessions, adding a wellness dimension to the festivities.

The event also features a motorcycle exhibition showcasing classic and modern models, safe-driving demonstrations and technical displays aimed at promoting road safety and mechanical awareness among young enthusiasts.

Cultural heritage takes on a refreshed identity through the Heritage Village, hosted at Al Amerat Public Park and Qurum Natural Park, with live demonstrations of traditional crafts, folk arts, local cuisine and heritage architecture presented within a contemporary framework.

Creative industries will be spotlighted during Oman Design Week at Al Khuwair Square, where designers and artists will present sculptures and interactive works reflecting innovation, urban beauty and sustainability, turning public spaces into open-air design galleries.

Adding a global fashion dimension, Fashion Week events will be staged at the Royal Opera House Muscat, featuring international designers and showcasing collections that merge cultural identity with modern global trends.
