Muscat: The event was hosted in the presence of Their Excellencies, ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions from brotherly and friendly countries accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, alongside a number of senior officials from government entities responsible for investment affairs and key economic sectors.
The evening was organized as part of efforts to strengthen economic diplomacy and reinforce direct dialogue with diplomatic missions and overseas commercial offices, contributing to expanding avenues of economic and trade cooperation and exploring investment partnership opportunities across priority sectors, in alignment with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
The evening commenced with welcoming remarks delivered by Her Excellency Ibtisam bint Ahmed Al Farooji, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, who affirmed that such initiatives reflect the Sultanate of Oman’s commitment to building investment relations founded on trust and integration with countries around the world.
Her Excellency stated that the gathering reflects Oman’s commitment to strengthening economic cooperation with brotherly and friendly nations and opening direct channels of communication with diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate. This, she noted, contributes to introducing investors to promising opportunities across a wide range of economic sectors and supports national efforts aimed at attracting quality investments while reinforcing Oman’s presence on the global investment map.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, also delivered remarks highlighting the growing role of economic diplomacy in strengthening international partnerships and supporting investment attraction efforts.
His Excellency noted that the Foreign Ministry is placing increasing emphasis on advancing economic diplomacy as a key pillar supporting the Sultanate’s development journey. In coordination with relevant entities, the Ministry continues to support national efforts to promote investment opportunities in Oman and strengthen engagement with international partners, contributing to attracting investment and expanding avenues of economic cooperation.
The evening’s program also featured a series of sector-focused remarks highlighting key drivers of economic growth in the Sultanate of Oman. His Excellency Dr. Ali bin Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Information Technology, presented insights on opportunities within the digital economy and its role in supporting economic transformation and fostering innovation.
His Excellency Azzan bin Qassim Al Busaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, also highlighted the growing opportunities within the tourism sector, reviewing the expansion of tourism projects and the diversification of tourism offerings that continue to strengthen Oman’s position as a promising global destination.
The evening also featured a visual presentation titled “Bridges of Opportunity,” which highlighted Oman’s key investment strengths and promising opportunities across diverse economic sectors. The presentation also showcased the role of investment promotion programs and platforms, as well as incentives provided to investors to facilitate and support the localization of economic projects, reaffirming Oman’s position as a stable investment destination open to international partnerships.
The evening concluded with the Suhoor dinner, offering an opportunity for direct dialogue and the exchange of perspectives among Their Excellencies, the ambassadors, contributing to the strengthening of economic relations and opening new avenues for cooperation and investment.
The Diplomatic Ramadan Suhoor forms part of a series of initiatives organized by Invest Oman, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, aimed at strengthening engagement with international partners and reinforcing the Sultanate of Oman’s position as an attractive investment destination and a trusted economic partner at both the regional and global levels.
