MUSCAT – At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Ghalibaf conveyed the greetings of His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with his wishes for continued progress and prosperity for His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people.
He expressed Iran’s appreciation for Oman’s approach and its constructive role, under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan, in supporting dialogue, reducing tensions and promoting peace and stability in the region.
His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik entrusted the Iranian guest with conveying his greetings to His Eminence the Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei and His Excellency Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, along with his wishes for continued security, stability and prosperity for Iran and its people.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest developments related to the Iranian-American negotiations. His Majesty the Sultan heard the Iranian side’s views on the various aspects of the talks and expressed his support for efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful and lasting resolution to outstanding issues.
His Majesty also expressed hope for the success of the negotiations, including efforts related to ensuring the safe and smooth flow of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, as well as addressing the nuclear file and other related challenges.
The meeting was attended on the Omani side by His Excellency Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and His Excellency Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al Hinai, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Iranian side was represented by His Excellency Ambassador Musa Farhang, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran accredited to the Sultanate of Oman, along with a number of officials.
