MUSCAT: His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik received a telephone call from His Majesty King Willem-Alexander during which the two leaders discussed the latest developments related to the ongoing military escalation in the region and its potential repercussions.

According to the Oman News Agency, the conversation focused on the growing tensions and the serious implications such developments could have on the security and stability of countries across the region.

Both leaders underscored the importance of intensifying regional and international efforts to halt the conflict and prevent further escalation. They also emphasised the need to adhere to the principles of international law and work collectively towards peaceful solutions.

The two sides highlighted the importance of returning to dialogue and diplomatic channels as the primary means to resolve the crisis and address its underlying causes, in a way that ensures the protection of peoples and strengthens regional and global stability.

Oman has consistently called for de-escalation and dialogue amid rising tensions in the Middle East, reiterating the importance of diplomacy to prevent wider instability in the region.
