Air India and Air India Express to operate 80 flights to West Asia on March 14 amid regional disruptions

NEW DELHI : According to a media note issued from Gurugram on March 13, the two carriers will continue operating scheduled services to key destinations in the region, including Jeddah and Muscat.

On March 14, the airlines will operate a total of 10 flights to and from Jeddah, while Air India Express will operate eight scheduled flights to and from Muscat, including round-trip services connecting Muscat with Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode and Mumbai.

Additional services to Jeddah will also be operated, with Air India running one round-trip from Delhi and two round-trips from Mumbai, while Air India Express will operate flights from Kozhikode and Mangaluru to Jeddah and back.

Beyond the scheduled operations, the Air India group will also run 62 additional non-scheduled flights to and from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, subject to slot availability and prevailing operational conditions at departure airports. These flights are being operated with the necessary approvals from Indian and local regulatory authorities.

The additional services include operations to major UAE airports such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah, connecting Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

While scheduled services to Muscat and Jeddah will continue, some routes in the region, including Doha, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tel Aviv and Dammam, remain temporarily suspended as part of operational adjustments.

Air India confirmed that flights to and from North America, Europe, Australia and other global regions continue to operate as scheduled.

Passengers whose bookings are affected by temporary suspensions have been offered the option to rebook their travel for a later date without additional charges or opt for a full refund.

Travellers can submit rebooking or cancellation requests through the airline’s website or contact the 24×7 customer support hotline at +91 1169329333 or +91 1169329999.

Air India Express passengers travelling from UAE stations have also been offered the option to rebook their tickets on additional commercial flights operating from the UAE to India without extra charges.

The airline group said it is proactively contacting affected passengers through registered mobile numbers and advised travellers to ensure their contact details are updated with the airline to receive important notifications.

Passengers with active bookings can also manage rebooking through Air India Express’s AI-powered digital assistant Tia, available on WhatsApp at +91 63600 12345.
