The centre-right VMRO DPMNE party of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski owns 101 properties across the country, according to a BIRN analysis of cadastre data.
The VMRO DPMNE’s traditional rival for power, the Social Democrats, has 12, while the biggest party representing minority Albanians, the opposition Democratic Union for Integration, DUI, owns five.
According to 2024 financial reports, the VMRO DPMNE’s property holdings are valued at 25.2 million euros, the Social Democrats’ at 2.7 million, while the DUI’s are worth two million.
