An agreement for the design and construction of the Macedonia-Serbia interconnector gas pipeline was signed today by Nedim Rama, Director of AD “Nomagas” and the Director of the “Rapid Build” company Toni Karanfilovski in the presence of Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and the Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozinovska.

After the procedure for awarding the contract, the offer of the company “Rapid Build”, worth 29.4 million euros, was selected as the most favorable. It is a “turnkey” contract, according to the FIDIC model, which includes urban planning, design, construction and obtaining approval for use – Rama informed after signing the agreement.

The Macedonian part of the interconnector will be 22.4 kilometers long, with a diameter of 500 millimeters. The starting point will be at the “Klecovce” block station, and the end point will be on the border with Serbia, near the village of Sopot. Five ancillary facilities will also be built within the project: a main interconnector metering station, a reduction station, a block station and two receiving and dispatching cleaning stations. The planned technical capacity of the gas pipeline is up to 160,000 cubic meters of gas per hour, with the possibility of bidirectional flows, and the deadline for full implementation of the project is the fourth quarter of 2028.
