Ukraine says it remains open to dialogue with South Korea despite Seoul’s decision to recall its ambassador due to a spat over North Korean prisoners of war, a move that has triggered a fierce ROK domestic debate over President Lee Jae Myung’s contrasting approaches to Ukraine and the DPRK.
“We are convinced that diplomacy must prevail over emotions,” Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi told Ukrainian outlets Interfax-Ukraine and Suspilne on Thursday.
“Despite Seoul’s decision to recall its ambassador, Ukraine remains open to resuming constructive dialogue — even if it takes time.”
