North Korea is set to continue exporting a cure-all drug touted as a treatment for cancer and other ailments to Russia in a likely sanctions breach, export filings show, following a wave of DPRK-made panaceas appearing on Russian online marketplaces.
Russia’s Federal Service for Accreditation (FSA) filings show that Moscow-based sole proprietor Yekaterina Morozova submitted a declaration on May 6 to import Kumdang-5 pills from the Pyongyang-based Namsong Pharmaceutical Company.
The pills, made from compressed ginseng roots, fall under Harmonized System Code 12, which covers medicinal plants. The drug’s appearance in Russia may violate international sanctions, as they are likely
