The Association of Local Government Vice Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGOVC) has marked a pivotal moment in grassroots governance with the successful hosting of its 8th Annual Conference (ALGOVC2025) and the inauguration of a new national executive.
Held under the forward-thinking theme, “Empowering Grassroots Democracy Through ICT: A Step Towards the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the conference brought together Vice Chairmen from all 774 Local Government Areas, along with key stakeholders, development partners, and institutional leaders, to drive a unified vision for ICT-enabled grassroots development.
A major milestone was the inauguration of the newly elected national executives, tasked with spearheading collaborative governance, policy advocacy, and strategic capacity building across the nation’s LGAs.
