A New Zealand woman is facing court and prison time after being removed from a Qantas flight for alleged intoxicated behaviour. The 50-year-old had boarded a Sydney to Queenstown flight in July when she allegedly ignored safety instructions, swore at cabin crew and danced in the aisle when the pilot was taxiing for take-off.
Her alleged actions led to the pilot aborting take-off, returning to the gate and calling the Australian Federal Police (AFP) to remove the woman from the flight.

The woman allegedly became argumentative and non-compliant when approached by the AFP, and was ultimately removed from the flight.
After the flight departed, she was released from police custody and returned to New Zealand the following day.
She will now face court for not complying with cabin crew safety instructions, which carries a maximum fine of $16,500.
She will also face charges of obstructing, hindering and resisting a Commonwealth official, which carries a maximum penalty of two years imprisonment.
AFP Detective Acting Inspector Trevor Robinson said boarding a flight intoxicated and ignoring cabin crew instructions was a safety risk for the offender and other people on board a flight.
“Anyone misbehaving under the influence of alcohol will be removed from their flight,” he said.
“The alleged behaviour of this woman risked the safety of herself, passengers and crew, and in this case caused a delayed takeoff, which inconveniences everyone on board.”
The woman will face Downing Centre Local Court today.
