Kathmandu, October 29

A tripartite dialogue involving the government, political parties, and Generation Z representatives has begun at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar.

This is the first time the government has held formal talks with members of the Gen Z generation as part of its efforts to create a conducive environment for the upcoming House of Representatives elections. The meeting has been termed a tripartite dialogue by the government.

According to Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel, the joint meeting aims to promote mutual understanding among the government, political parties, and young citizens to ensure timely and peaceful elections.

A total of 13 Gen Z representatives are participating in the dialogue. They include Monika Niraula, Raksha Bam, Purushottam Yadav, Samana Lawati, Khemraj Saud, Upaarjun Chamling, Bhoj Bikram Thapa, Miraj Dhungana, Bibek Dahal, James Karki, Rehanraj Dangol, Amit Khanal, and Rajan Ranamagar.

Earlier, on October 21 (Kartik 4), the government had held talks with political parties to build consensus for conducting elections within the stipulated timeframe. Prime Minister Sushila Karki had convened an all-party meeting where participants expressed positive commitments toward ensuring a fair electoral environment.

Officials said the ongoing tripartite dialogue marks an important step in broadening political engagement and fostering trust among the younger generation, political leaders, and the government in the run-up to the national polls.
