Kathmandu, October 8

The Election Commission has called a meeting of political parties to discuss the House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

Both the government and the Election Commission had faced criticism for not consulting political parties before announcing the election date and publishing the schedule.

Following the criticism for excluding parties participating in the election, the Election Commission has invited them for a discussion on October 16.

Election Commission spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said, “Preparations have been made to hold discussions with the parties on October 16. The formal invitation letter is yet to be sent.”
