The National Youth Service (NYS) delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Games in Rundu. 

They returned home with six trophies and medals after excelling across several sporting disciplines.

The annual competition brought together employees from various , who competed in a range of sporting events, including football, netball, marathon, tug of war, volleyball, pool, darts and relay races. The event aims to promote teamwork, healthy lifestyles and stronger collaboration among public enterprises.

NYS emerged as one of the standout performers in the competition, collecting honours in both individual and team events. 

The institution secured victories in the men’s and women’s relays, and claimed the women’s marathon title.

In recognition of its enthusiasm and spirit throughout the tournament, NYS was awarded the Most Cheerful Team accolade. 

The institution also walked away with the prestigious Overall Best Performer award, underscoring its dominance at this year’s games.

Adding to the organisation’s success was NYS commissioner and executive committee member of the Public Enterprises CEOs Forum, Felix Musukubili.

He successfully defended his CEO’s Sportsman Award title for the second consecutive year. Musukubili distinguished himself on the athletics track by becoming the only CEO to receive a medal in the 10-kilometre race.

Speaking after the event, Musukubili expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the games. 

He thanked the event sponsors, the Rundu Town Council and the Kavango East regional leadership for their support and collaboration in hosting the tournament.
