Department of Consumer Affairs’ staff hold up placards encouraging consumers that they have rights to send complaints.
Majority of consumer complaints are filed by Yangon Region and most complaints are for telecommunication service, according to the Department of Consumer Affairs.
DOCA has received 24 complaints in November 2025, of which, 12 are complaints for telecommunication service, four are complaints for electronic trading, three are complaints for monetary service, one complaint is for consumer product and another one complaint is for after-sales service, one complaint is for hotel and tourism service and two complaints are for other service. Including new 24 complaints, there are 57 complaints remain unsolved, so there are 81 complaints in total in November.
Of 81 cases, 35 were already resolved and DOCA said it has continued on remaining 46 to find resolution. Among November’s complaints received from regions and states, 18 were lodged by Yangon Region while three were filed by Mandalay Region, one was filed by the Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw and each one by Magway Region and Ayeyawady Region, it said.
DOCA has accepted complaints and sought solution to them through negotiation.
