Preparations being made to provide emergency rescue and assistance during the Thingyan period.
The Myanmar Rescue Organization (Mandalay Region Committee) has announced that the public can request assistance for any emergency injuries occurring within the Mandalay Region during the Thingyan Water Festival.
To ensure that citizens can enjoy the New Year festival safely, the Mandalay Region Committee, in collaboration with township-level branches and partner organizations, will be providing support through an emergency ambulance network, search and rescue teams, water rescue units, and diving teams.
The organization encourages anyone who witnesses emergencies, injuries, or drowning incidents in their vicinity to reach out for help. Emergency contact numbers are 09 767 119 119, 09 787 119 119, and 09 440 119 119.
Additionally, the Mandalay Region Fire Service Department will station rescue boats at all four sides of the moat. Permanent and auxiliary firefighters will be on standby for search and rescue operations. In the event of a drowning or water-related emergency, the public can contact the following hotlines: 191 (Fire Service Department), and 02 4021084 and 09 340 320 202 (Mandalay Region Fire Department Command Office).
