Sittway entrance gate model.

In commemoration of the 200th anniversary of Sittway, the Rakhine State Government has built a new city entrance gate, according to a source close to the state government.

The state Chief Minister U Htein Lin and cabinet members conducted a field investigation at the construction site.

Officials paid a visit to the construction site of new entrance gate of Sittway.

For the entrance gate design, minister U Aung Kyaw Moe and the state chief legal officer U Hla Thein held meetings for two times with a local cultural group leader U Kyaw Zan Maung, a local researcher U Aung Hla Thein and literary artists in August 2025.

The construction of the new city entrance gate has been under implementation under the management of the committee led by the state minister for resources U Myint Soe and it will be completed soon, said the source.
