Myanmar, Pakistan to boost diplomatic relations, trade and investment

Vice-President U Nyo Saw and Pakistani Ambassador Mr Tariq Karim exchange handshakes during the latter’s courtesy call on the former.

Vice-President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, U Nyo Saw, received Mr Tariq Karim, Ambassador of Pakistan to Myanmar, at the hall of the President’s Office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
At the meeting, the Vice-President and the Pakistani Ambassador emphasized the discussions to further cement diplomatic relations and friendly ties between Myanmar and Pakistan.
They also held frank discussions on plans to further enhance cooperation in the trade and investment sectors. In addition, they reviewed ongoing collaboration in human resource development and efforts to boost the tourism industry.
Also, present at the meeting were Deputy Ministers U Khin Latt and U Ko Ko Kyaw, and officials. The Pakistani Ambassador to Myanmar was accompanied by officials. — MNA/TTA
