A Myanmar PV Passport.
The Ministry of Labour has issued a notification advising individuals who hold an Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) but do not have a valid work visa or work permit to switch their passport type to PV if they intend to travel abroad for social visits, religious pilgrimages, or medical treatment.
“For those holding an OWIC without a work visa/work permit who plan to travel abroad for visits, pilgrimages, or medical reasons, we suggest switching to the PV passport,” stated the Safe Migration of the Ministry of Labour.
The ministry also informed travellers that the applications with clear documentation for departure approval should be submitted at least three working days in advance.
“We have submitted applications dated 16 January. We will submit those received by 4:30 pm daily to the ministry no later than the following day. Approval process will be smooth if applications are submitted three working days in advance. Applications for distant departure dates will be set aside and processed one week before travel. Documents should be clear. Especially, if Singapore work permit QR code is not clear, we have to make manual website verification, causing delays.Applicants with PR must include the re-entry permit. E-tickets must clearly show the departure date and flight number, ” said the Safe Migration.
The ministry further noted that holders of PJ and C of I returning from abroad must report to the ministry’s arrival counter at the international airport so that they can be considered for departure clearance.
