Raja and Wydad Held to Goalless Draw in 135th Casablanca Derby

Casablanca’s derby ended without a winner as Raja Casablanca and Wydad Casablanca played out a 0–0 draw at the Mohamed V Stadium on Wednesday night.

The match was tense and emotional, marked by multiple stoppages due to flares and smoke from the stands.

The result keeps both sides in the top four of the Botola Pro. Raja now sit second with 12 points from six matches, level with MAS Fes at the top.

Wydad remain fourth with 11 points from five games, tied with FAR Rabat but behind on goal difference.

Raja dominated possession with 56%, while Wydad had 44%. Despite less of the ball, Wydad were more active in attack, registering 7 shots with one on target. Raja managed 3 shots, none on goal. Both teams earned 4 corners.

The first half was scrappy and frequently interrupted. Raja started well and created two early chances, but couldn’t convert. The match was paused in the 11th minute due to thick smoke from flares and resumed four minutes later.

In the 29th minute, Abdlghafor Lamirat missed a clear one-on-one after a through-ball from Lorch. Minutes later, Saber Bougrine and Amin Aboulfath clashed in midfield, earning yellow cards.

Wydad’s best chance came in the 33rd minute when Aboulfath fired a long-range shot that was saved by the Raja goalkeeper.

The second half followed a similar pattern, slow and cautious. Play was halted again in the 51st and 79th minutes due to smoke.

Thirteen minutes of stoppage time were added, but the score remained unchanged. Both teams appeared content with a draw, prioritizing caution over risk.
