Netizens, Global Media Celebrate Morocco’s U20 Champions

Rabat – As Morocco’s U20 World Cup heroes paraded through Rabat this evening, the celebration resonated far beyond the country’s borders.

Thousands of fans flooded Avenue Mohammed V, waving flags, singing, and dancing to mark the team’s historic triumph in Chile, a victory that crowned Morocco as world champions for the first time at the U20 level.

The euphoric scenes drew widespread reactions online, with Moroccan netizens and global media outlets alike joining in the celebration.

France’s ActuFoot shared a video of the festivities on X, writing: “The Moroccan U20 world champions are in Rabat celebrating their title. The passion is just magical, we can’t wait for AFCON.”

Football outlet Foot Mercato also hailed the young Atlas Lions, posting: “The U20 world champions are here! What a generation.” The message was widely shared by fans across the world, many applauding what they called Morocco’s “golden generation.”

French football magazine Onze Mondial also joined in the celebration, posting on X:  “Moroccan supporters celebrated the U20 world champions as they deserved after their triumph.”

On social media, Moroccan users expressed overflowing pride and emotion, turning platforms like X, Instagram, and TikTok into virtual extensions of the Rabat celebration.

“A true football nation, always Morocco,” one fan wrote, capturing the sentiment shared by many. Others posted clips from the parade, chanting “Always Morocco” and “Proud of you,” accompanied by red and green emojis and the national flag.

Many users described the victory as a “dream come true” and hailed the players as “the pride of an entire generation.”

From local chants to global headlines, the reactions captured how Morocco’s U20 triumph has transcended borders, inspiring fans, uniting generations, and reaffirming the country’s growing place in world football.

With Morocco set to host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in December, many fans and commentators now see the U20 triumph as a sign of greater things to come for Maghribi football.

Across social media, excitement is building around the idea that the same passion and discipline shown by the youth squad could inspire the senior team to lift the continental trophy on home soil. “If this is the future, AFCON is ours,” one user wrote, echoing a growing belief that Morocco’s football renaissance is only just beginning.
