Rabat – Chinese manufacturing company Boway announced on Friday plans to establish one of their manufacturing bases in Nador, Morocco.
The company is headquartered in Zhejiang, China, and operates in sites across China, Germany, Canada and Vietnam. Its plant in Morocco symbolizes a significant expansion beyond the company’s Asian and European market.
Boway manufactures alloy materials — copper, brass, bronze, and high-performance copper alloys — that are used in electronics, automotive, and industrial applications.
By setting up the unit in Nador, the company plans to invest $150 million (MAD 1.5 billion) into the production base.
The base will produce 30,000 tons a year and will span over 188,000 m². It will be run by Boway’s Moroccan subsidiary, Boway Alloys New Materials (Morocco).
Construction of the plant is expected to start October 2026 and be completed in 2029.
The company serves primarily American and European markets and its new Moroccan base is expected to make delivery more efficient and secure global supply chains.
A similar project was set for construction in Vietnam, but was ultimately scrapped when the company turned instead to Morocco as an ideal location for its expansion strategy.
The development and investment further establishes Morocco as one of the continent’s leaders in the rapidly-evolving world of digital and high-tech industry.
