Cairo Gears Up to Host Inaugural ‘Ai Everything Middle East & Africa’ in 2026

Rabat – Egypt is set to host the first-ever Ai Everything Middle East & Africa (MEA) event from February 10 to 12, 2026, bringing together global leaders, tech companies, startups, and AI experts.

The event is organised by GITEX Global and hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA).

Egypt is rapidly becoming a regional leader in artificial intelligence (AI), states the organizers in a press release. The country is the only African nation ranked among the top 10 countries worldwide in AI and machine learning.

In addition, the country is implementing a National AI Strategy 2025-2030 to embed AI across key sectors, including healthcare, energy, fintech, and education, according to the statement.

The Ai Everything MEA event will feature a high-level summit and a two-day exhibition to showcase AI technologies and solutions. Global tech companies such as Atos, Cyshield, HPE, and IBM are expected to participate.

The event is set to attract over 200 venture capitalists managing more than $1 trillion in assets to explore investment opportunities in Egyptian and regional startups.

The summit will focus on AI applications in areas that  Egypt includes in its national AI strategy, including outsourcing, semiconductor design, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, manufacturing, digital health, fintech, energy, education, and digital public services.

A ‘bold vision’ for a paradigm shift, not just adaptation

The event will also launch one of the region’s largest youth-tech academies, providing mentorship and hands-on experience to Egypt’s annual pool of over 750,000 university graduates.

Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said that AI is “rapidly transforming the architecture of global competitiveness, and Egypt is determined to not only adapt to this shift – but to shape it.”

He states that his country’s National AI Strategy reflects a “bold vision: to position Egypt as a leading force in responsible AI adoption, policy innovation, and inclusive digital development.”

Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre, global organizer of GITEX, stated that “AI has leveled the digital playing field, and new opportunities are emerging for countries.”

In the wake of this trend, Egypt is keen on “harnessing this tech phenomenon to regenerate its social fabric and economic landscape, forging a future where innovation uplifts its citizens and redefines the nation’s global stature,” LohMirand added.

“Ai Everything MEA shall be the force multiplier to support Egypt’s most strategic AI mission to build empowering outcomes at scale,” she concluded.
