CAMP KATUU, Oct. 31 — Crowds packed Camp Katuu on Halloween night for an operational trick-or-treat event that featured a haunted house, costume contest, basketball shoot-out and plenty of creative decorations.
Long lines of people waiting to experience the haunted house at the 2025 Halloween event at Camp Katuu – Sea Bee Camp, Airai.
“The scariest 15 seconds of my life,” said an 18-year-old attendee who came with friends, describing the haunted house experience.
From 5 to 7 p.m., families and teens lined up eagerly to enter the haunted house, where the Cat Team’s performances spooked participants. Though the haunted house was brief, it did not disappoint.
“The haunted house was short but fun,” said another community member. “Sakura restaurant had a booth there and their food was great. Cars were also parked for trick-or-treating. Even though the haunted house was short, there were lots of other events happening to make up for it. I just wished it lasted longer.”
Throughout the evening, children dressed in creative costumes walked around collecting treats. Teens filled the basketball court preparing for a 3-point shoot-out, pairing up for friendly competition.
Car trunks were decorated with scary accessories and skeletons for the trunk-or-treat, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The event turned out to be an entertaining and enjoyable celebration for the community, blending thrills and fun for all ages.
