The Council of Ministers affirms that the President’s visit to the Gorgol region was a significant political and developmental milestone.

In light of the results of the working visit undertaken by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Gazouani, to the Gorgol region, covering its five districts between February 8 and 13, 2026, the Council of Ministers extends its thanks and warm congratulations to the residents of the region in general and to the inhabitants of each district for their outstanding mobilization and the warm reception they gave to His Excellency the President and his accompanying delegation.

This important historic visit, which marked a significant political and developmental milestone, carried clear messages regarding the priorities of the phase and renewed the symbolism of the province as a cradle for major reform projects. It affirmed the priority of national unity based on citizenship and recognition of diversity, strengthened the approach of social justice by focusing on vulnerable groups and combating inequality, and provided strong impetus for vocational training and food security as levers for sustainable development. It also reinforced a culture of calm and political dialogue as a strategic choice for managing public affairs.
