His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, sent the following condolence message to General Mamady Doumbouya, President of the National Committee for Gathering and Development, Head of the Transitional Stage, Head of State, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, of the Republic of Guinea:

Your Excellency, my dear brother,I received with great sorrow and deep emotion the news of the tragedy that occurred in Maniyah, in the Koya region, and the heavy losses of lives and numerous injuries that resulted from it.I, on behalf of the Mauritanian people and government, and in my personal capacity, express my heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy to you, sharing in the mourning of the victims’ families, praying to God to envelop them in His vast mercy and grant the injured a speedy recovery, while affirming our solidarity with the brotherly Guinean people during this ordeal.Your brother, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
