Mauritania’s ambassador to Ethiopia presents his Credentials to the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa

Addis Ababa

His Excellency Mr. Al-Hussein Ould El-Naji, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to Ethiopia and its permanent representative to the African Union Commission, presented his credentials yesterday, Wednesday, in Addis Ababa to Mr. Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa as the Islamic Republic of Mauritania’s accredited representative to the Commission.

During an official ceremony held on this occasion, His Excellency, the Ambassador conveyed the greetings of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to the Executive Secretary of the Commission affirming our country’s readiness to move forward in developing solid relations with this UN body in various fields. The two parties also pledged to continue coordinating to ensure the success of the Executive Secretary’s planned visit to our country to strengthen existing areas of cooperation and explore new areas in which the Commission could serve Mauritania.

For his part, the Executive Secretary affirmed his readiness to support Mauritania in governance reforms, development planning, credit risk management, small and medium-sized partnerships, trade, and digital transformation.
