MAJURO, Republic of the Marshall Islands — The crew of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Joseph Gerczak (WPC 1126) arrived in Majuro Tuesday as part of their ongoing Operation Blue Pacific patrol – a multi-mission Coast Guard endeavor to promote regional security and stability throughout the Pacific.

 

The arrival of CGC Joseph Gerczak in the Republic of the Marshall Islands is a demonstration and reaffirming of the U.S. Coast Guard’s enduring commitment as a steadfast and reliable Pacific partner.

 

The cutter crew will also join the Republic of the Marshall Islands security forces in conducting bilateral maritime law enforcement operations to counter illicit maritime activity in the country’s sovereign waters. These operations reinforce a shared commitment to a secure and prosperous Pacific.

 

Collaborative maritime efforts with RMI promote safety, security, prosperity, and resilience across the Pacific, boosting interoperability and supporting Pacific-led readiness against transnational and environmental threats.

 

CGC Joseph Gerczak is a 154-foot Fast Response Cutter (FRC) with a 24-person crew. It was the 26th sentinel-class cutter built in the series and the second of its class to be homeported in Honolulu. The Joseph Gerczak was designed for various missions crucial to protecting the Pacific region.
