Taiwan provides $7.2m – The Marshall Islands Journal

Republic of China (Taiwan) Chargé d’Affaires Hank Liu presented a check for $7,240,455 to Foreign Minister Kalani Kaneko on August 22.

The funding is Budgetary Support to the RMI government for 2025 under the annual financial assistance from the government Taiwan to the Marshall Islands.

At the presentation, Chargé Liu reiterated Taiwan’s longtime commitment to its close partnership with the Marshall Islands. Taiwan will continue to work closely together with the Marshall Islands in many fields of mutual concern, he said.

Minister Kaneko, on behalf of the RMI government, expressed his appreciation to Taiwan government for this funding, and all assistance in response to the RMI’s national development needs.

Kaneko emphasized the Marshall Islands would continue to voice its support for Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organizations.
